Asia-Europe rate up 7.3pc to US$921/TEU, USWC slips 6.8pc to $1,650/FEU
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe rose 7.3 per cent to US$921 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade increased 4.5 per cent to $882 per TEU, American Shipper reported. Asia to the US west coast slipped 6.8 per cent week-to-week to $1,650 per FEU while those to the east coast off 4.9 per cent to $3,055 per FEU.
