Maersk, MSC, HMM to launch transpacific service run by HMM from April
MEDITERRANEAN Shipping Co (MSC), Maersk and Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) will commence a transpacific string, separate from the 2M Alliance, that will connect Thailand, Vietnam, south China, Taiwan and South Korea, to Los Angeles and Oakland, starting from Laem Chabang on April 2.
Maersk has branded the new service TP7, MSC the Lotus, and for HMM it is the PS2. It will be operated seven 6,800-TEU HMM ships on which Maersk and MSC will slot charter.
The port rotation is: Laem Chabang, Cai Mep, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Yantian, Kaohsiung, Busan, Los Angeles, Oakland, Busan, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong and back to Laem Chabang.
