Nine worldwide CMA CGM Asia-Europe rate hikes to hit shippers March 1
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has announced nine rate hikes effective March 1, starting with an Asia-northern Europe increase to US$1,150 per TEU, $2,100 per FEU, $2,150 per FEU high cube and FEU reefer.
From Asia to Med ports March 1 rates for the western Mediterranean will rise to $1,150 per TEU, $2,100 per FEU, $2,150 per FEU high cube and FEU reefer.
From Asia to the Adriatic, rates will rise to $1,150 per TEU, $2,100 per FEU, $2,150 per FEU high cube and FEU reefer.
From Asia to Black Sea ports, rates will rise to $1,150 per TEU, $2,300 per FEU, $2,300 per FEU high cube and FEU reefer.
From Asia to the eastern Mediterranean, rates will rise to $1,150 per TEU, $2,300 per FEU, $2,300 per FEU high cube and FEU reefer and the same for cargo bound for Syria.
From Asia to Algeria rates will rise to $1,800 per TEU, $3,400 per FEU and $2,300 per FEU high cube.
From Asia to Tunisia rates will rise to $1,550 per TEU, $2,900 per FEU and $2,975 per FEU high cube.
From Asia to Libya rates will rise to $1,650 per TEU, $3,100 per FEU and $2,975 per FEU high cube.
From Asia to Morocco rates will rise to $1,500 per TEU, $2,800 per FEU and $2,875 per FEU high cube.
These new FAK rates will apply to cargo from all Asian ports including Japan, southeast Asia and Bangladesh.
It will also apply to all cargo bound for northern European ports (including the UK and the full range from Portugal to Finland/Estonia) All outports in Asia and Mediterranean will be subject to additional surcharges, CMA CGM said.
From February 21, our freight all kinds (FAK Tariff Guide Lines, excluding terminal handling charges at both ends, are $656 per TEU and $1,112 per FEU from all China and Korea main ports to Jebel Ali. Cargoes bound for Dammam will be charged an add-on of $50 per TEU on top of Jebel Ali rates.
Separately announced was aCMA CGM rate increase from South America east coast including Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Brasil (Itaguai, Santos, Paranagua, Itapoa, Navegantes, Rio Grande, Vitoria, Salvador, Suape, via Santos) to Asia and southeast Asia, Oceania, East India of $300 per TEU and US$500 per FEU also effective March 1.
