Asia-Europe rate falls 3.1pc to US$1,052/TEU, off 2.3pc to Med ports
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe fell 3.1 per cent to US$1,052 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade slipped 2.3 per cent to $1,004 per TEU, American Shipper reported. Asia to the US west coast fell two per cent week-over-week to $2,167 per FEU while those to the east coast rose 1.5 per cent to $3,647 per FEU.
