Dachser opens multipurpose warehouse in Busan's FTZ

DACHSER has started offering warehousing services in Busan to support its growing customer base in South Korea, particularly multinationals, by combining bespoke transport, warehousing and value-added services under the roof of Dachser Contract Logistics.

The multipurpose warehouse located in the free trade zone is supported by the company's in-house warehouse management system, Mikado, that is used by all its warehouses globally and manages all processes, including the transfer of orders, cargo movement and inventory data to the company's electronic data interchange (EDI) centre.

"Our multinational customers expect the same high level of service as Dachser delivers across Asia and around the world. With the investment in this operation in Busan we will be able to build our contract logistics capabilities for our customers across South Korea," said managing director Air & Sea Logistics Korea, Roman Mueller.

Moving forward, the company said it will continue to expand services for its diverse customer base in Korea to provide not only air and sea freight services but also contract logistics and warehousing, intra-Asia services and Customs clearance.
