Asia-Europe rate falls 2.7pc to US$1,086/TEU, off 1.3pc to Med ports
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe fell 2.7 per cent to US$1,086 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade decreased 1.3 per cent to $1,028 per TEU, American Shipper reported. Asia to the US west coast rose 6.2 per cent week-over-week to $2,211 per FEU while those to the east coast jumped 14.7 per cent to $3,594 per FEU.
