William Villalon takes over as president of APL Logistics
WILLIAM Villalon has assumed the role of APL Logistics' new president, after serving as acting president since November 2016.
In connection with Mr Villalon's appointment, Michael Pilver and Graeme Watson have taken up the positions of global head, automotive vertical, and head, North American region, respectively.
Mr Villalon previously served as the global leader for automotive vertical, and the regional head for North America. Under his leadership, the automotive vertical has grown organically and through joint-ventures into a leading automotive logistics services and solutions provider in North America, China and India, said American Journal of Transportation.
Mr Villalon has 30 years' experience in the global transportation and logistics industry and has been with the logistics provider since 1984.
"His proven leadership in growing the business and deep familiarity with the company's capabilities and operations are a strong combination to strengthen APL Logistics' focus on its vertical growth strategy," said chairman of APL Logistics, George Tomiyama.
