Ship recycling convention in London meets from January 25-26

THE fourth Ship Recycling Congress taking place on January 25-26 in London will discuss and identify methods to increase ship recycling profitability following developments in EU and Global regulations, according to the organisers, Active Communications International.

The agenda for the two-day meeting has been finalized and confirmed speakers & topics include Captain Wolfram Guntermann, director environmental fleet management, Hapag-Lloyd, who will speak about international versus regional regimes, particularly IMO versus EU regulations and challenges emerging.



The marine director of the German Shipowners Association, Wolfgang Hintzsche, will address the gathering on the issue of 'shipping Industry steps towards compliance with the Hong Kong International Convention for the safe and environmentally sound recycling of ships."



Simon Bergulf, director EU affairs, Danish Shipowners Association, will address the conference about the 'EU and ship recycling: stick or carrot?"



An in-depth analysis of South East Asian ship recycling facilities recent development at Alang Ship Recycling Yards will be addressed by Haresh Parmar, honorary joint secretary, Ship Recycling Industries Association.
