Worldwide Flight Service抯 John Batten takes seat on Cargo iQ board
PARIS based global groundhandler Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) will be represented by its interim European CEO John Batten on the Cargo iQ board, it has been announced.
Mr Batten, who has 35 years' experience in air cargo, was previously an observer to the Cargo iQ board of 12 airline and forwarder representatives.
Cargo iQ is a nonprofit membership group supported by IATA with the mission of creating and implementing quality standards for the worldwide air cargo industry.
"Cargo iQ has a vital role to play in continuing to drive improvements in the industry," said Mr Batten.
"It is an exciting time to be joining the board as we take next steps towards the launch of our Smart Data project, and new audit and certification scheme, and I am looking forward to working with the team for the roll out of these important developments."
Mr Batten began his career in air cargo with TNT, where he led global network and air cargo sales for 25 years, later becoming cargo vice president for Qatar Airways, before moving to Swissport as cargo vice president.
