American Airlines Cargo flies 61 rescued dogs to new homes
NINETEEN American Airlines Cargo flights flew 61 dogs rescued from streets and shelters in two days to home new homes in time for the holiday season, travelling from Dallas Fort Worth to New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey.
The flights were booked by Society for Companion Animals, a Dallas-based non-profit organisation.
"Our team puts in a lot of effort to ensure these animals receive the same level of attention and care a human passenger would," said manager, cargo services, DFW, Chuck O'Connell. "And it's all worth it knowing each will make it safely to a new home for the holidays."
"The customer service and care that American Airlines Cargo has for our rescue dogs is heartwarming," said president of Society for Companion Animals, Tawana Couch. "Every dog is treated exceedingly well and looked after during the process of traveling to his or her forever home."
