Hong Kong's container throughput surges 10.1pc in November
HONG Kong's container volume increased 10.1 per cent to 1.76 million TEU compared to 1.60 million TEU in the same month last year, according to statistics from the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board.
Most of Hong Kong's volume is from the container terminals at Kwai Tsing that handled 1.37 million boxes in November, an increase of 10.3 per cent over the same month last year. Export containers totalled 666,000 TEU, while 706,000 TEU were imports.
Hong Kong's box volume in the first eleven months of the year totalled 17.7 million TEU, down four per cent from the same period last year.
