Asia-Europe rate slips 3.8pc to US$1,006/TEU, rises 0.3pc to Med ports
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe fell 3.8 per cent to $1,006 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade inched up 0.3 per cent to $947 per TEU, American Shipper reported. Asia to the US west coast increased 16.4 per cent week-over-week to $1,608 per FEU while those to the east coast rose 12.3 per cent to $2,627 per FEU at the end of the previous week.
