Asiana Airlines adopts IBS's iCargo management platform for operations
ASIANA Airlines Cargo is upgrading its IT legacy system and multitude of satellite systems by moving to a single, fully integrated platform provided by Logistics IT solutions specialist IBS Software in a multi-million-dollar deal that covers a 10-year period.
IBS will integrate all the carrier's business operations, including sales, revenue accounting, ULD management, mail management and mail revenue accounting, within the iCargo platform, reported London's Air Cargo News.
As a result of moving to the new platform, IBS said in a statement the carrier will be able to achieve value-adding enhancements in areas such as revenue and yield management, product management, real-time shipment monitoring and control, and enterprise mobility.
The iCargo platform will also enable the airline to conform to industry-driven standards and best practices, such as electronic air waybills (eAWBs), and cXML to facilitate the online exchange of business transaction information.
Executive vice president of Asiana Cargo, Kwang-Suk Kim, said: "By selecting iCargo as our technology platform, we are hopeful that we will be able to cater to the demands of fast changing logistics services environment and improve our market share."
Chief executive of IBS Software, Rajiv Shah, added: "This partnership with Asiana is also a testament to our commitment to the Korean market as we continue to expand our presence in East Asia."
iCargo now supports the cargo movements of 25 airlines worldwide.
