Singapore's container throughput edges up 1.2pc increase in October
SINGAPORE port handled 2.53 million TEU in October, inching up by 1.2 per cent from 2.5 million TEU registered in the same month of last year, according to preliminary estimates from Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
On a month-on-month comparison, however, volumes dipped by 2.7 per cent from 2.6 million TEU seen in September this year, according to Seatrade Maritime News.
From January to October 2016, Singapore port moved a total throughput of 25.57 million TEU, down 1.7 per cent from 26.01 million TEU in the previous corresponding period last year.
