Swissport acquires Skylink to expand presence at Schiphol

SWISSPORT Cargo Services has acquired Amsterdam ground handler Skylink Handling Services from Rhenus BV to expand its air cargo business at Schiphol.

With this, it will increase potential business volume for current customers and attract new customers, reports Mumbai's Stat Trade Times.

"Skylink is a successfully established provider of air cargo handling and consistently delivers high quality services," said Swissport Netherlands CEO Menno Biersma.

With the acquisition Swissport will increase its warehouse capacities by 10,000-square metres at Schiphol.

Swissport International provides ground services for around 230 million passengers and handles 4.1 million tonnes of cargo a year on behalf of some 835 client-companies in the aviation sector.
