Finnair and Vietnam Airlines announce new codeshare agreement
FINNAIR and Vietnam Airlines are launching a new codeshare cooperation that will offer a wider choice of destinations and flight frequencies for customers in both Europe and Vietnam.
With this new agreement, Finnair's flight numbers will be added to Vietnam Airlines flights which operate out of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City connecting with Finnair's flights to Helsinki from Bangkok and Singapore.
In addition, Vietnam Airlines' flight numbers will be added to Finnair's London and Frankfurt flights, when connecting with Vietnam Airlines' flights between both continents.
"This agreement will bring great connectivity and benefits to passengers flying from Europe to Vietnam and vice-versa," says Finnair head of partnerships and alliances Philip Lewin.
"We are very happy to work with Vietnam Airlines on this new codeshare agreement and we are convinced customers from both airlines will benefit from this new collaboration," he said.
Finnair flies between Asia, Europe and North America with an emphasis on fast connections via Helsinki, carrying more than 10 million passengers annually and connecting 17 cities in Asia with more than 60 destinations in Europe.
Vietnam Airlines operates 94 routes to 20 domestic and 29 international destinations with average 400 daily flights. Vietnam Airlines is flies 87 aircraft, including a 787 Dreamliner, Airbus A350-900 XWB, an Airbus A330, Airbus A321 and a Boeing 777.
