A-E rate down 4.7pc to US$913/TEU, off 6.3pc to Med ports
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Shanghai to Northern Europe fell 4.7 per cent to US$913 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade dropped 6.3 per cent to US$565 per TEU, American Shipper reported.
Asia to the US west coast slipped 2.2 per cent to $1,990 per FEU while those to the east coast fell 1.5 per cent to $2,793.
