Canadian Coastal Shipping with Marine Software's maintenance system

UK-based Marine Software has supplied its marine planned maintenance system (MPMWin) to Coastal Shipping Ltd's latest vessel, the 'Sten Fjord". She joins four other tankers that have been equipped with the MPMWin software.

Presently operating in the Canadian Arctic, the Sten Fjord - a 13,670-dwt, 2004-built chemical/oil products tanker - sails under the Canadian flag, reported Tanker Operator.

Established in 1973, Coastal Shipping operates a fleet of tankers providing fuel to the Canadian Arctic and Labrador coastal ports that also trade internationally.

A Coastal Shipping representative commented: "We chose MPMWin Software to consolidate the onboard PMS systems across the fleet. The emailed updates to the office server are a major advantage to our operations considering our vessels are often in remote locations in the Canadian Arctic.

"Several crew were familiar with this software and it's excellent for scheduling on board maintenance. It has proven a valuable tool for marine and engineering superintendents to track maintenance on board."
