Indian airport authority chief seeks to make profits through air cargo
THE new chairman of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) Guruprasad Mohapatra said his mission is to make the authority profitable, reports Mumbai's Stat Trade Times.
One step is the incorporation of a subsidiary, AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services Company. The new company was formed to spin-off the cargo operations of AAI.
The newly formed company will be officially launched later this month in New Delhi.
AAI manages 125 airports including 18 International Airport. After taking charge as chairman of AAI in July this year, Dr Mohapatra aims to raise the standard and internal efficiency to cut down on cost, wasteful expenditures and avoid delay.
