Jettainer develops 'intelligent' container with Lufthansa Industry Solutions
GERMANY's Frankfurt-based Jettainer is now cooperating in the development of a digital container with the IT experts at Lufthansa Industry Solutions to create an "intelligent" container that can locate and track, measure temperature, shocks and transmit that information.
"The intelligent container will ensure greater transparency within the process chain in future. We're breaking new ground to make our services more efficient in future," said Jettainer managing director Carsten Hernig.
Lufthansa Industry Solutions has experience with tracking technologies which is now used in developing digital containers with other functions added later, he said.
Mumbai's Stat Trade Times also said the new generation of containers will accelerate maintenance and control procedures. "For example, the increased level of transparency will also make it easier to determine who was responsible for any damage to the ULDs," said the report.
