Heathrow versus Gatwick fate to be settled next week, vows PM May
THE British government announced it will make a decision on London airport expansion next week as it's "in the national interest" not to delay it further, after cabinet discussions for more than an hour.
The decision on the government's preferred option will be taken by the cabinet's committee responsible for airports, said cabinet spokeswoman Helen Bower.
Prime Minister Theresa May will also allow ministers to make known their objections to the decision, reported Bloomberg News.
The prime minister "made clear this was an important infrastructure decision for the country which has been delayed for too long," Ms Bower said.
Allowing ministers to voice objections "is a mature, common-sense approach reflecting the fact that certain ministers have long-held views."
