Singapore Airlines Cargo signs with Zodiac for 2,000 light weight ULDs
ZODIAC Aerospace is to supply more than 2,000 of its Herculight S AKE cargo containers to Singapore Airlines Cargo, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The unit load devices (UDL), made of a composite and aluminium panels, come in two configurations to suit passenger or cargo planes.
One of the airline's key requirements was toughness and durability. "We strive towards the lightest tare weight possible for our products, leading the market trend towards lightest weight with highest durability," said Zodiac vice president Bart van Berkel.
"At the same time, we strictly will not compromise the performance potential of our products. We look forward to a successful collaboration with Singapore Airlines Cargo for many years to come," he said.
Tare weight of the Herculight S range, launched in 2014 starts from 51 kilogrammes with Endumax composite panels, and 65 kilogrammes with full aluminium panels.
