Finnair to add extra A350 flights to Tokyo and Hong Kong over summer 2017
FINNAIR is to raise the frequency of its service between Helsinki and Tokyo with four additional weekly flights to Narita airport from June 5 to October 27 2017, to be operated by its new Airbus A350 aircraft. Currently, its daily service is operated by an A330.
With the extra flights, Finnair and its partner Japan Airlines will offer 18 weekly connections from Helsinki to Tokyo's Narita Airport. The additional Tokyo frequencies will be operated as a joint business operation with Japan Airlines, British Airways and Iberia.
Finnair will also add three weekly flights to Hong Kong to be operated by an A350 aircraft between June 6 and October 28. Currently, the carrier flies to Hong Kong daily from Helsinki. With the extra flights, the carrier will operate 10 weekly flights, a statement said.
"With increased frequencies for Tokyo and Hong Kong on the A350, we are now tapping into the growth of Asia-Europe traffic and increasing our presence in cities that have been popular with our customers in recent years," said chief commercial officer, Juha Jarvinen.
Next year, the airline will receive four more A350 aircraft that will raise the number of A350 aircraft in its fleet to 19 by the end of 2023.
