Garuda Indonesia expands network opening new service centre in Karawaci
FLAG carrier Garuda Indonesia has expanded its air cargo distribution network by establishing a new cargo service centre (CSC) in Karawaci, Tangerang.
"We expect the new facility to meet the ever increasing needs of freight forwarding, also to facilitate cargo distribution," said cargo director Sigit Muhartomo.
The Karawaci CSC office is the fourth of its kind owned by Garuda Indonesia Cargo in Tangerang, following Soekarno-Hatta Airport CSC, Tangerang City CSC and BSD City CSC, Jakarta's Tempo Inti Media reported.
"We are open to establishing new CSC offices in other regions to support domestic and international cargo distribution for all kind of customers," Mr Muhartomo said.
Garuda Indonesia currently has 70 CSC offices, comprising 46 CSC offices in airports and 24 CSC offices in downtown districts, operated by either Garuda's subsidiaries or its business partners.
In the first half of 2016, Garuda Indonesia Group carried 198,000 tonnes of cargo, a 12.6 per cent increase relative to the same period last year, contributing to US$107.8 million in revenue.
