Asia-Europe rate falls 21pc to US$764/TEU, down 22pc to Med ports
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe fell 21 per cent to US$764 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade dropped 22 per cent to US$667 per TEU, IHS Media reported.
Asia to the US west coast slipped 0.9 per cent week-over-week to $1,726 per FEU while those to the east coast off 0.5pc to $2,433 per FEU.
