Morrison Express starts new service at Rickenbacker to boost efficiency

GLOBAL logistics provider Morrison Express has launched a new service at the cargo-only Rickenbacker International Airport (LCK) in Lockbourne, Ohio.

LCK, 10 miles from downtown Columbus, serves as a hub for big names in fashion, electronics and retail, reports Global Trade magazine of Newport Beach, California.

"Turnaround time is everything, and our clients and airline partners rely on seamless and expedited processes," said Morrison vice president Tony Medeiros.

"Rickenbacker's 90,000-square foot container freight station delivers a competitive advantage for our clients," he said.

LCK's location allows for more timely and cost-effective distribution and within reach of 70 per cent of the US and Canadian population within two days by truck.

By using LCK, Cathay Pacific, Emirates and Cargolux now make multiple 100-tonne flights every week bypassing more crowded New York and Chicago gateways.

Said Morrison marketing chief Chris Chespak: "We are achieving maximum efficiency and reducing turnaround time for landing, unloading, handling, and distribution."
