THE 19th Maritime HR & Crew Management Conference will take place in London on October 19 - 20, drawing delegates from shipping operators, including directors and managers human resources, crew & personnel, as well as those from manning and training.

Also present will be the relevant authorities involved in the development and training of crew, said conference organisers from ACI (Active Communications International).

"We are pleased to announce the participation of Commodore Barry Bryant, director general, of Seafarers UK. He will be speaking on HR/Education and Training aspects of the UK Maritime Growth Study," said ACI organisers.

Seafarers UK, works as a strategic grant-maker, campaigner and facilitator across the whole UK maritime community, providing cash, experience and influence to promote the welfare of all British and Commonwealth seafarers.

Commodore Bryant, as chairman of the Maritime Charities Group and as director of the Merchant Navy Welfare Board, the Confederation of Service Charities and Veterans Scotland, is well-placed to take a wide view of the past, present and future needs of the whole maritime community from the Royal and Merchant Navies and the fishing fleets, and is presently working on the outcomes of the UK's Maritime Growth Study.
