Asia-Europe rate up 2.4pc to US$966/TEU, soars 22.5pc to Med ports
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to Northern Europe increased 2.4 per cent to US$966 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade shot up 22.5 per cent to US$860 per TEU, American Shipper reported. Asia to the US west coast decreased 0.4 per cent week-over-week to $1,742 per FEU while those to the east coast remained at $2,447 per FEU.
