Air China inaugurates nonstop Shanghai-San Jose service
AIR China has launched its first air service to North America with its direct flight from Shanghai to San Jose, making it the first airline in Chain to provide a nonstop Shanghai-San Jose service.
At a ceremony at Terminal 2 of Shanghai Pudong International Airport to mark the maiden flight, vice president of the China National Aviation Holding Company Coo Jianxiong, said the opening of the air route offers those engaged in commercial activities and holiday seekers with a brand-new and convenient route.
Air China currently serves a total of 36 destinations from Shanghai, including 14 international and regional flights, an airline press release said.
Airbus A330-200 aircraft will be used on the new service. Flight CA829/30 from Shanghai to San Jose operates three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday), departing from Shanghai at 13:30 local time and arriving in San Jose at 10:40 local time.
The return flight leaves San Jose at 12:30 local time and arrives in Shanghai at 16:40 local time (the next day).
