CH Robinson to acquire forwarder APC Logistics for US$225 million
CH ROBINSON has entered into an agreement to acquire Melbourne-based APC Logistics, a forwarder and customs broker serving Australia and New Zealand.
CH Robinson, ranked fifth 3PL globally, intends to purchase APC Logistics for A$300 million (US$225 million) in cash, pending regulatory approval.
Once done, the company will integrate APC Logistics into its global forwarding division and into it single global technology platform, Navisphere.
The two companies have already enjoyed a long-standing exclusive agent relationship for business in Australia and New Zealand.
"This acquisition allows us to add great talent to our global forwarding team and advances the strategy to expand our global network," said CH Robinson CEO John Wiehoff.
"We will work hard to integrate the valued employees, customers and suppliers of APC," he said, reported Mumbai's Stat Trade Times.
APC Logistics provides ocean, air, customs brokerage and consultancy services to 3,000 customers and suppliers. Founded in 1974, APC Logistics employs 300 people and has seven offices in Australia and two offices in New Zealand. APC posted revenues for the fiscal year ending June 30 of US$251 million.
"By joining CH Robinson, we are building on the business we have done together for more than 16 years," said APC Logistics CEO Tony Considine.
