OOCL tells shippers their cargo will stay clear of Hanjin contamination
HONG KONG's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has issued a statement to customers, assuring them that it is taking every precaution against running afoul of the affairs of bankrupt Hanjin Shipping.
"OOCL cargo will no longer be loaded on vessels operated by Hanjin Shipping. For bookings placed on Hanjin Shipping operated vessels but have not yet commence loading," the statement said.
"OOCL will no longer load any cargo and containers from Hanjin Shipping onto OOCL operated vessels. Hanjin Shipping cargo that are already on OOCL operated vessels will be unloaded at the intended port of discharge.
"For OOCL cargo on Hanjin Shipping operated vessels that are under arrest and/or idled outside the port, we will liaise with Hanjin Shipping and the marine terminal operators to release the cargo as soon as possible," it said.
