CMA CGM levies rate hikes from ECSA to Africa and EU/Med to Australia
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM will levy a rate increases from the east coast of South America to Africa from October 1.
Separately, there will also be October 1 increases on cargo from Europe and Mediterranean ports to Australia of $300 per TEU.
The Latin American increases of US$150 per TEU rate and $200 per FEU will apply to cargo for South Africa, East Africa, Arabian Gulf and west coast of north India.
The Marseilles-based shipping line described the increase as part of a rate restoration programme.
