Virgin Australia, Virgin Atlantic enter cargo partnership
VIRGIN Atlantic Cargo is to continue providing international long-haul cargo sales and management for Virgin Australia after the two companies signed a new long-term agreement.
The two airlines have worked together since February 2009, with Virgin Atlantic taking responsibility for all cargo revenues on Virgin Australia's long-haul flights to and from Sydney and Brisbane and Los Angeles.
From Los Angeles, cargo customers are then able to connect into Virgin Atlantic's network, London's Air Cargo News reported.
"In 2015, our total volumes ex-Australia to the US increased five per cent year on year and ex-US to Australia by four per cent in a highly competitive market," said regional sales manager Pip Palmer.
"We aim to earn the growing support of our customers by ensuring they continue to experience the best possible customer service and network connections."
Said Virgin Atlantic vice president John Lloyd: "It is also great news for our sales team in the US who can continue to provide our customers with a direct cargo service to Australia."
