Digital Ship holds maritime CIO forum in Rotterdam September 29
LONDON's Digital Ship has announced its 3rd Maritime CIO Forum Rotterdam on September 29 with this year's conference expected to draw 150 shipping executives to deal with the "Future of iShipping", its opportunities and challenges.
Issues to be addressed will include how will developments and new channels in satellite operations change data usage and sharing.
"With increased data usage comes increased risk - so what are the right strategies for managing safety and security?" said conference organisers outlining the scope of the conference.
Each session will comprise of two headline presentations followed by an interactive panel and debate.
The first session will deal with maritime satellite communications and the evolution of maritime connectivity. The second morning session will look at cyber security, safety and risk.
After lunch there will be a session reviewing crew communications, training and welfare, followed on a session on big data and how shipping can handle its disruptive influence and profit by it.
Then there will be concluding remarks from the conference chairman followed by Networking Party, sponsored by Intelsat.
