DHL extends logistics deal with Southco in Europe, Americas, Asia Pacific
THE existing contract between DHL Global Forwarding and security hardware specialist Southco has been extended by four more years.
DHL Global Forwarding has provided Southco with logistics services in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific since 2009, providing air, ocean, domestic and customs brokerage services on various trade lanes, on an exclusive basis.
Southco currently uses DHL Global Forwarding to ship latches, hinges and engineered access hardware products between its 17 engineering and manufacturing locations using ocean freight and DHL's less-than-container load (LCL) service.
In Europe, the company uses DHL road freight to move finished products from its manufacturing plant in the UK to Europe.
Said Southco supply chain chief Paul Smith: 'The relationship we have with DHL has been crucial to the success of our manufacturing facilities maintaining a continuous production flow."
