APL expands Latin network with Kingston-Rio Haina-San Juan feeders
APL is to commence a new weekly feeder service, starting September 13, called the Island Bridge Express (IBX) service, that will stop at Kingston, Rio Haina and San Juan.
A statement from the carrier said that the Caribbean transshipment hub at Kingston will have other APL services to ports in the Caribbean and Asia.
"The new IBX service is designed to facilitate growing imports to these important Caribbean markets; and cater to potential cargo traffic arising from the widened Panama Canal.
Customers can expect to benefit from connectivity from Asia with competitive transit time and adequate capacity," said head of Latin America Trade, Efrain Osorio.
