Congestion at Valencia diverts Hapag-Lloyd ships to nearby Sagunto
HAPAG-LLOYD is to divert its Mediterranean Canada (MCA) service to call at the port of Sagunto until the end of this month, owing to congestion at Valencia port. Sagunto is 30 kilometres further up the Spanish coast.
The first containership to call at Sagunto's Intersagunto Terminal will be the geared 3,832-TEU Detroit Express (voyage 03e31/03w33) which is equipped with 494 reefer plugs, reported Lloyd's Loading List.
The carrier said the service would call at Sagunto until operations at Valencia port return to normal.
