CMA CGM announces string of east-west, north-south rate hikes
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has announced a series of rate hikes starting with US$200 per TEU and a $300 per FEU increases on cargo from Mediterranean to Asia from September 1.
This charge will apply from the western Mediterranean, the Adriatic, the east Med and the Black Sea to the Far East, Japan, India, Gulf and the Red Sea.
CMA CGM rates will also rise $200 per TEU from the Indian sub-continent and Middle East and Gulf region to Mozambique on all cargo including dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk.
CMA CGM also announced a EUR500 (US$553-GBP419) per TEU increase from north Europe, Scandinavia, east and west Med, Black Sea, North Africa and the Baltic to West Africa, East Africa and the Indian Ocean from October 1.
