Turkish Cargo uses Envirotainer boxes for cold chain shipment service
TURKISH Air Cargo uses Envirotainer active temperature control containers to prevent their cargo from being exposed to often changing temperatures during flights.
In the containers, which contain highly sensitive medical supplies, vaccine, insulin and drugs, they manage to maintain the desired temperatures even during long-distance flights. All transport of medical supplies are executed in accordance with IATA regulations.
With their active cooling system containers, the carrier can have cold-chain transportation in aircraft, including loading and unloading areas, reported the American Journal of Transportation.
They also report to their customers about the changes in temperature of their shipments during the whole process using their data entry log. They can handle shipments between minus 20 degrees Celsius and +25 as demanded by circumstance.
On request by customers, the containers are installed with a temperature setting by their certified experts and delivered to clients ready to be loaded to the plane. After the acceptance of the container, it is carried into the active container storage area at the Turkish Cargo facility.
