Volga-Dnepr acquires 20 Boeing 747-8 Freighters
RUSSIAN air freight firm Volga-Dnepr has acquired 20 Boeing 747-8 Freighters to expand its breakbulk cargo capacity in a deal that includes logistics support and maintenance.
Four of the freighters have already been delivered, the most recent handed over this month to Volga-Dnepr's new UK subsidiary CargoLogicAir, reported Breakbulk.com.
"Volga-Dnepr intends to provide strong evidence to the market that the unique An-124 and Boeing 747-8 four-engine freighters are still essential to serve the fast-changing requirements of our customers worldwide," said president of Volga-Dnepr Group, Alexey Isaykin.
Volga-Dnepr formed CargoLogicAir in partnership with fellow subsidiary AirBridgeCargo in response to demand for breakbulk services via the UK. It serves markets in the UK, Europe, Asia, Africa and North America from its base at London Stansted Airport.
