Operations commence at 'K' Line's new cold storage warehouse in Vietnam

THE newly constructed cold storage warehouse in Ho Chi Minh City by CLK Cold Storage Company Ltd - a joint-venture established by "K" Line, Cool Japan Fund and Japan Logistic Systems - is now open for business.

The warehouse is located 22 kilometres from Ho Chi Minh City and has easy access to Cat Lai port and the airport. It will be used in part to store Japanese food and ingredients in Vietnam.

Japanese companies were responsible for all aspects of developing the warehouse, from the design and construction to cooling equipment and operation of the warehouse.

The warehouse is environmentally-friendly with natural refrigerants (NH3 and CO2) offering temperatures between minus 50 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius.

A joint company statement said it is the "first facility to provide a super frozen storage room in Vietnam".

Various protective measures for goods as well as energy-saving measures have been taken to safely and hygienically store merchandise. These measures are based on the know-how of Bangkok Cold Storage Ltd, a member of the "K" Line Group, which has been providing cold storage services in Bangkok since 1989.
