Worldgate Express Lines awarded Secured Trade Partnership cert
THE Worldgate Express Lines Pte Ltd has announced it has been awarded a Secured Trade Partnership (STP) certification from Singapore Customs.
"Being STP-certified reaffirms our reliability and commitment to protect the company's employees, properties, information and customers' assets from potential threats in the supply chain," said the Worldgate Express.
"We were first awarded the two-year STP certificate under 'intermediate' banding in May 2014," said the statement.
"Over the past two years, we have worked on areas identified by Singapore Customs for further improvement so as to enhance the security of our company's operations and supply chain." it said.
"In May this year, we were awarded the STP status under 'enhanced' banding for the efforts we put in. This 'enhanced' band and STP Certification are valid for three years to enable us to enjoy those benefits stated in STP," the statement said.
Worldgate applied to affirm its professionalism and establish a commitment to safeguarding customers' property, re-affirm company vigilance against risk and be recognised by Singapore Customs as a trusted trader.
The company has found STP status has helped in customs clearance and greater recognition as a low risk logistics service provider. STP companies are recognised as a known consignor (KC) under the Regulated Air Cargo Agent Regime (RCAR).
The Singapore programme is consistent with the World Customs Organisation (WCO) SAFE Framework of Standards to secure and facilitate global trade.
