Piling works to be done off Hong Kong's Causeway Bay typhoon shelter

VESSELS are being urged to proceed with caution while piling works are carried out for nine months off the Causeway Bay typhoon shelter in Hong Kong by one derrick barge and one tug boat.

The piling works will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent breakwater: (A) 22 deg. 17.157扤 / 114 deg. 11.008扙. (B) 22 deg. 17.185扤 / 114 deg. 11.003扙. (C) 22 deg. 17.208扤 / 114 deg. 11.117扙. (D) 22 deg. 17.187扤 / 114 deg. 11.121扙.

A working area of 50 metres around the barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will mark out the positions of the anchors extending from the barge, according to a notice from the Hong Kong Marine Department.

The work will be carried out between 0700 and 1900 hours, and suspended on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels used to perform the work will stay in the works area outside the hours of work, reported GAC Hong Kong.
