CMA CGM hikes Asia-to-Red Sea freight rate US$300/TEU on July 15
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has announced a US$300 per TEU rate increase for cargo from Asia - though not Japan - to the Red Sea ports of Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Ain Sokhna (Egypt), Aqaba (Jordan), Djibouti, Port Sudan (Sudan), Aden and Hodeidah (Yemen).
The Marseilles-based company considered the increase part of its rate restoration programme and will take effect on July 15.
