A-E surges 99.8pc to US$1,206/TEU, up 50pc to Med and 61pc to USWC
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to Northern Europe surged 99.8 per cent to US$1,206 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
The Asia-Med component of the SCFI increased 50 per cent to US$1,172 per TEU, reports IHS Media. Rates to the US west coast increased 61 per cent, to $1,209 per FEU and by 19 per cent for US east coast to $1,785 per FEU.
