CMA CGM sells in-house trucker as it sheds non-core assets
THE sale of Greenmodal Route to trucker Jacky Perrenot marks latest move by French Shipping giant CMA CGM to shed non-core assets, reports Lloyd's Loading List.
The French trucker has acquired the road-borne container transport activities of the CMA CGM unit, only months after Greenmodal sold off its warehouse management arm, TCX, to Le Havre-based Seafrigo.
A spokesman for south-east France-based Perrenot confirmed the takeover of Greenmodal Route but the value of the transaction has not been disclosed.
Perrenot is retaining Greenmodal's entire workforce of 80 as well as acquiring around 60 trucks and depots in Marseilles-Fos, Le Havre, and Lyon. The company will be re-named Perrenot Fos.
The deal includes an exclusive contract for Perrenot to provide road-borne transport services for CMA CGM's containers in France.
