A-E surges 26pc to US$680/TEU, up 18pc to Med, off 2.2pc to USWC
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to Northern Europe surged 26 per cent to US$680 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
The Asia-Med component of the SCFI increased 18 per cent to US$776 per TEU, reports IHS Media.
Shanghai to the US west coast down 2.2 per cent to $753 per FEU as rates to the US east coast off two per cent to $1,496 per FEU.
