CGM CMA announces US$155 per TEU terminal handling charge in Ghana
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has announced an increase in terminal handling charges (THC) in Ghana to US$155 per TEU and $265 per FEU starting July 20.
This was necessary to cover increases in operational charges in Ghana. The THC will be applicable to all import and export cargo from/to the ports of Tema and Takoradi, in addition to the ocean freight and payable in Ghana.
In compliance with local regulations in Ghana, THC is payable in GHS (Ghanaian Cedi) at the prevailing exchange rate and subject to published Government Tax.
In line with this decision, the "evacuation fee" which was introduced recently to cover imbalance logistics costs will be cancelled from the implementation date of the THC.
