Brussels Airport's cargo traffic bounces back from March terror attacks
BRUSSELS Airport saw its cargo volumes return in May to pre-terror attack levels, after traffic amounted to 40,396 tonnes, almost equal to May 2015's 40,535 tonnes.
Full-freighter traffic rose 7.9 per cent in May due to the return and expansion of Ethiopian Cargo and growing volumes on other airlines, while integrator traffic was up six per cent year on year, reported London's Air Cargo News.
Bellyhold cargo, however, declined by 16.4 per cent on the back of an ongoing reduction in passenger flights and numbers, which were still down 8.4 per cent in May, as well as by the loss of Jet Airways.
