CMA CGM to levy hikes July 1, July 15 to North Europe and Med
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM will levy a two-step US$750 per TEU rate increase on cargo from Asian ports including Japan, southeast Asia and Bangladesh to all north European ports including the UK and the full range from Portugal to Finland/Estonia on July 1.
This will be followed by another step in the "Rate Restoration Programme" on July 15, which will involve multiple and varying charges on all Asian cargo bound for the Mediterranean.
Specifically, charges will be from Asia to the West Med, $1,200/TEU, $2,300/FEU, $2,350 40' highcube. To the Adriatic, $1,200/TEU, $2,300/FEU, $2,350 40' highcube.
To the Black Sea, it will be $1,200/TEU, $2,300/FEU, $2,400 40' highcube and to the East Med $1,200/TEU, $2,300/FEU and $2,400 40' highcube.
